An adventure through two of Japan’s great national parks, Oze and Joshin’etsu Kogen. Walk across the untouched Oze Marshland, where alpine flowers and sweeping mountain peaks create a timeless landscape. Then, journey onward to encounter the roots of YUKIGUNI culture, shaped by millennia of harsh winters and deep traditions in Japan’s Snow Country. Continue to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, where wild macaques bathe in natural hot springs — a rare and iconic sight found only here. The journey concludes with immersion in Japan’s hot spring heritage, as you soak in two of the nation’s most celebrated medicinal onsen: Kusatsu and Matsunoyama, both treasured for centuries for their restorative powers.
Note: Oze National Park is open to visitors from early June to mid-October.
